My name is Jacqui Afonso. I believe that massage benefits not just the one receiving the massage, but all those in their lives. When stress is reduced for one person the whole family can benefit. Having been a doula, I have seen how the support someone receives can help everyone involved. Being a doula and having my third child, is also how my path started towards massage therapy. I have taken a special interest, and specialized training in prenatal and postpartum massage to become a Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist. As I became certified as a massage therapist, I discovered pediatric massage. Seeing as pediatric massage fit into my belief of massage benefitting families as a whole, becoming a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist and Certified Infant Massage Instructor was the next logical step. I also took additional training in touch therapy for Liddle Kidz with Autism (ASD). Adding to my services, I have taken training in craniosacral therapy and Myoskeletal therapy.
In an effort to provide individualized sessions for veterans, I have taken training in providing massage therapy for those challenged with PTSD. Being former military myself and having family members who served as well, I have a special place in my heart for those that were willing to sacrifice for others.
I look forward to helping families find more solace in their lives, whether a child has special needs, there is a new mom, mom or dad need relaxation or pain relief, any child just needs help with growing pains, or any other number of stresses.
